Phoebe Kahlo

Phoebe Kahlo is a multidisciplinary Australian artist with a predominant focus in analogue collage. Embracing the spontaneity and chance that working with knife, glue, and tactile, recycled imagery brings, Phoebe’s work is process driven – where imperfections, limitations and the accidental are celebrated. Like the cartographers and explorers of old, her work seeks to map new geographies, to catalogue and chart the complex dreamscapes of the interior world, reworking everyday imagery in such a way as to sensitize the desensitized and in so doing documents a visual myth making, imbibed with themes of Victoriana, natural history, mortality, folklore and science fiction.
